A Piece of Your Life The Tang Dynasty (618-907 A.D.) is widely considered to have been the most magnificent and prosperous period in Chinese history. Its cultural and social ramifications reached far beyond Asia. China was famous as the Middle Kingdom then, and Chinese were also known as Tang people. They lived and thrived in neighborhoods then known as "Tang people’s town" and now called Chinatown. Since long before the Tang, food mattered as much to Chinese as heaven. Overseas, simple Chinese food could be found in the tiny Chinatowns in shops selling sweet snacks or in chopshui stands, which combined Westernized tastes and Chinese cooking perspectives. Through the ages, a new kind of Chinese food has been emerging. It blends thousand of years of authentic Chinese culinary essence with an endless pursuit of perfection in freshness and flavor. This marriage of the contemporary and the traditional gives us the fragrant and savory dishes that inspire the birth of today’s Sweet Station. "Sweet" reminds people of the delightful in life. "Station" is where the cuisine’s essence all began. The magnificence of the past Dynasty is presented anew at today’s Sweet Station. |
